Crazyhead (TV series)

Crazyhead, originally announced as Crazy Face, is a six-episode comedy horror series created by Howard Overman. Overman also executive produced the show through his company, Urban Myth Films. It first aired on E4 in the United Kingdom on 19 October 2016, before launching internationally on Netflix on 16 December 2016. Filmed in Bristol, the series was a co-production between Channel 4 and Netflix. In 2017, it won three RTS West of England awards: Best Sound, Best Design, and Best On-Screen Performance for Susan Wokoma as Raquel. On 17 July 2017, Wokoma confirmed the show had been cancelled. It later became available on Netflix in the UK on 16 February 2018.

The main cast includes Cara Theobold as Amy, an unhappy bowling alley worker and a reluctant, rare "seer" who can see demons hiding in society. Susan Wokoma plays Raquel Francis, a socially awkward, lonely seer and half-demon turned demon hunter who befriends Amy. Lewis Reeves is Jake, Amy's best friend from school and colleague, who has unreciprocated feelings for her. Arinze Kene portrays Tyler, Raquel's brother, who is unaware of her demon hunting and shares an attraction with Amy. Riann Steele plays Suzanne, Amy's best friend who becomes a revenant. Luke Allen-Gale is Sawyer, a demon with powers and Raquel's father. Tony Curran plays Callum Weaver, a powerful demon disguised as Raquel's psychiatrist. Charlie Archer plays Harry, a demon who promised Raquel's father he would protect her and later develops feelings for her. Recurring characters include Billy Seymour as Dylan, a demon and one of Callum's henchmen, and Lu Corfield as Mercy, a demon posing as a single mother who aids Callum's plan and killed Raquel's father, Sawyer.

On Rotten Tomatoes, 100% of 12 critics' reviews are positive, with an average rating of 7.0/10. The site's consensus calls it "a brilliantly bonkers blend of comedy and horror" that "slays thanks in large part to Cara Theobold and Susan Wokoma's dynamic chemistry." *The Guardian* described the show as "disturbing and excellent" and "fizzy and fun," also praising the double act of Theobold and Wokoma. *The Daily Telegraph* called it "bright, punchy and [a] genuinely funny series."
