Withdean Stadium is an athletics venue in Withdean, a suburb of Brighton, built in 1930 and once the home track of Olympic runner Steve Ovett. Brighton & Hove Albion played their home games there from 1999 until 2011.

Background
The site first hosted a lawn tennis club in 1936, and its centre court staged a Davis Cup tie between Great Britain and New Zealand in 1939. In 1955 the mayor, Walter Dudeney, opened it as the Brighton Sports Arena, and Ovett opened an all-weather track there in 1980. After the Goldstone Ground was sold for redevelopment in 1997, Albion spent two seasons sharing Gillingham's Priestfield Stadium, more than 70 miles away, before moving to Withdean as a temporary home in 1999. Their last season there, 2010-11, ended with the League One title under Gus Poyet before the move to the Falmer Stadium.
