Zeta Sagittae
Triple star system in Sagitta with a close binary pair.
Zeta Sagittae is a triple star system in the northern constellation Sagitta. Its combined brightness of magnitude 5.00 makes it visible without a telescope. The inner pair consists of two A-type main-sequence stars orbiting each other every 8487.9 days in a highly elliptical path. The primary, component A, is a rapidly spinning A3 Vnn star. Its rotation flattens it into an oblate shape, with an equatorial bulge 14 percent larger than the polar radius.
