Fernando "Fefo" Alcide Barrichello, born 12 September 2005, is a Brazilian racing driver currently competing in the FIA Formula 3 Championship for AIX Racing. He finished third in the 2024 Euroformula Open and drove a Jaguar TCS Racing Formula E Gen4 car at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The youngest son of Formula One race winner Rubens Barrichello and younger brother of Eduardo Barrichello, he began karting in the 2015 Florida Winter Tour and has since climbed through Formula 4 and Euroformula Open to reach FIA Formula 3.
Career
Barrichello made his karting debut in the 2015 Florida Winter Tour Mini ROK class, finishing eighth. His only top-three karting result was second in the 2018 Orlando Cup Junior ROK category. In 2022, he drove for Full Time Sports in the inaugural F4 Brazilian Championship, winning two races and placing seventh with 123 points. At the start of 2023, he contested nine races in the Formula 4 UAE Championship with Carlin, finishing 42nd without points.
For his main 2023 campaign, Barrichello joined Monlau Motorsport in the F4 Spanish Championship, scoring one points finish at Spa-Francorchamps and ending 17th with six points. He later entered the 2023 F4 Brazilian Championship from the second round at Interlagos with Cavaleiro Sports, achieving a best result of eighth. He scored four podiums: second at Mogi Guaçu, third at Goiânia, two second places at Interlagos, and two more podiums plus a maiden fastest lap in the final round at Interlagos, finishing fifth in the championship with 140 points.
Euroformula Open Championship
Barrichello moved to Euroformula Open in 2024 with Team Motopark, partnering Brad Benavides, Levente Révész, Cenyu Han, and Jakob Bergmeister. He was the only rookie cup driver until the final two rounds and placed third overall with one win, one fastest lap, five podiums, and 264 points. He remained with Team Motopark for the 2025 Euroformula Open season. On 29th August, it was announced that Barrichello would join AIX Racing for the 2025 FIA Formula 3 Championship finale at Monza Circuit and as a full-time driver for the 2026 season.
Formula E
After being in the team garage at the 2026 Madrid ePrix and scouted by team principal Ian James, Jaguar TCS Racing signed Barrichello to drive their Gen4 prototype at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed, as main drivers António Félix da Costa and Stoffel Vandoorne had clashing World Endurance Championship commitments.
