Sandro Salvadore Appearance Record

A defender for the ages — second in appearances, first in the hearts of Bologna's faithful.

Sandro Salvadore is second on Bologna FC's all-time appearance list, a number that says everything about the kind of player he was. A central defender built for the physical grind, he put the majority of his professional career at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara — but his journey began at Juventus, and he retired at Bologna without ever playing for Napoli. Tenacity, leadership, zero drama in the dressing room. That was the deal.

Quick Facts

Key achievement: Second all-time appearance record holder (450 appearances)

Lore & Background

His impressive number of appearances is not merely a statistic but a narrative of dedication. Though often mistaken for a one-club man, Salvadore actually started at Juventus, moved to Bologna for his prime years, and finished his career there — he never played for Napoli. His loyalty to Bologna during his peak cemented his place in the hearts of the Rossoblu faithful, who view him as a defensive icon, second only to Giacomo Bulgarelli in all-time appearances, with Tazio Roversi behind him.

Reader's Guide

While Salvadore did not win major national trophies like the Scudetto or Coppa Italia during his tenure at Bologna, his 'trophy' remains his enduring legacy as the club's appearance king. His career is defined by consistency rather than silverware accumulation.
