Diego Latorre

Diego Fernando Latorre, born on 4 August 1969 in Buenos Aires, is a retired Argentine footballer who operated as a striker or attacking midfielder. He is married to Yanina Latorre. Latorre began his professional career with Boca Juniors on 18 October 1987, scoring on his debut against Platense. He helped Boca win the 1991 Argentine league.

His performances earned him a spot on the Argentina national team, where he netted his first goal in a Copa América match versus Peru. In 1992, after Argentina won the 1991 Copa América, Latorre moved to Fiorentina alongside Gabriel Batistuta. While Batistuta became a club legend, Latorre made only two appearances before quickly transferring to Tenerife in La Liga. He recorded 67 appearances and 15 goals for the Spanish side.

He then spent a single season at Salamanca in 1995 before returning to Boca Juniors in 1996. After his European stint, he also played for Racing Club de Avellaneda and Rosario Central, later finishing his career in Mexico and Guatemala, retiring in 2005. Following retirement, Latorre became a sportscaster for Fox Sports Latin America, working as a match analyst alongside Juan Manuel "Bambino" Pons, Mariano Closs, and Sebastián "El Pollo" Vignolo.

When Disney acquired Fox Sports Latin America (South Cone) and merged it with ESPN Sur in 2020, Latorre—along with Closs, Pons, and Vignolo—moved to ESPN Sur. He now serves as the lead football analyst for the Argentine Liga Profesional, the CONMEBOL Libertadores, and the UEFA Champions League.
