Lore & Background
The Roknari are a species that evolved in an environment where survival demanded physical dominance and technological superiority. Their biology is distinct, with bodies adapted to withstand high radiation and extreme temperatures, making them formidable in space combat without the need for bulky suits. Historically, they were known as conquerors, expanding their territory through force and intimidation. However, their encounter with Bob's civilization marked a turning point. The Bobs' ability to communicate across species barriers and their shared interest in survival against common threats like the Vorlons or other hostile entities led to a shift in Roknari philosophy.
Reader's Guide
The Roknari's primary goal has shifted from territorial expansion to mutual defense and exploration alongside their new allies. Their military capabilities remain top-tier, featuring heavily armored vessels and energy-based weaponry that can withstand significant damage.
Internally, politics are driven by meritocratic principles where leadership is earned through demonstrated strength and strategic acumen. While they maintain a rigid hierarchy, there is room for growth based on achievement rather than birthright.
Their relationship with other groups, particularly the Bobs and humans, has evolved from wary suspicion to deep camaraderie. They serve as formidable protectors in joint fleets, often taking the lead in defensive maneuvers against external threats.
