Grimoire
The book every mage receives at fifteen, and the clover on its cover.
A grimoire is a book that lets a mage cast spells far beyond their natural abilities, and it is one of the main sources of power for the Magic Knights and the other mages of the Clover, Diamond, Heart and Spade Kingdoms. Grimoires wait in grimoire towers until their owners receive them at the annual Grimoire Acceptance Ceremony after turning 15, and new spells appear on the blank pages as the owner grows. In the Clover Kingdom a three-leaf clover grimoire is common, while a four-leaf clover grimoire is rare and is said to bring good luck and go only to a truly exceptional mage. When the owner of a four-leaf grimoire falls into absolute despair, the book darkens and its clover grows a fifth leaf; devils can take these five-leaf grimoires to manifest their true power.
