G.S. Lavrio B.C. is a Greek professional basketball club based in Lavrio, Attica. The team currently competes in the Greek Elite League, the second-tier national league, and has also appeared in the FIBA Champions League. Its logo features an owl, referencing ancient Athenian coins made from metals mined in Lavrio.

History

Lavrio was established in 1990 and played in the regional ESKA leagues until 2002. From 2002 to 2007, the club competed in the Greek C National League, then moved up to the Greek B National League. In its first two seasons at that level, 2007–08 and 2008–09, Lavrio finished 6th. The 2009–10 season saw the club declared champion of the B National League after a tie-breaker with Panelefsiniakos, achieving 24 wins and 6 losses, earning promotion to the Greek A2 National League.

In the Greek Cup that season, Lavrio was eliminated in the second leg of the second phase by PAOK, 73–83. During its debut A2 season in 2010–11, the team placed 4th in the league; in the Greek Cup, it lost 69–63 to Nea Kifissia on the second game day. The 2011–12 season ended with an 8th-place finish in the A2 League, and a 74–59 Greek Cup defeat to Panerythraikos on the second game day of Phase A. In 2012–13, Lavrio finished 5th in the A2 standings and was eliminated from the Greek Cup by Ikaroi Serron, 64–60, in the first game of the second phase.

The 2014–15 A2 season saw Lavrio take third place; following the withdrawal of KAOD from the top-tier Greek Basket League, Lavrio was promoted to the top division for the first time. The club secured its place in the top league for the next season one game before the end, despite losing that game to Aries Trikala, and finished the 2015–16 Greek League season in 11th place.
