Keepers of the Well
Guardians of the life-giving source, healers of the broken world.
The Keepers of the Well are a sacred order dedicated to the preservation and distribution of healing magic within the Azarinth Healer universe. They serve as the custodians of a mystical source known simply as the Well, which is believed to be the origin point of restorative energies that sustain life in fractured regions of the world.
Lore & Background
The order operates under strict vows of neutrality and service, intervening only when the flow of healing energy is threatened by corruption or external forces. Members undergo rigorous training to understand the currents of life-force, learning to channel the Well's power without depleting it. Their sanctuaries are often hidden in places of natural beauty, protected by wards that repel those with malicious intent.
Reader's Guide
In the narrative structure of the universe, the Keepers often serve as mentors or quest-givers for protagonists seeking restoration or knowledge about ancient magic. They are defined by their unwavering patience and deep empathy, traits required to handle the raw power they channel. Key relationships include a complex dynamic with those who exploit healing magic for war, creating conflict between duty and morality. Their personality is marked by stoicism, yet they possess a quiet warmth that comforts the wounded.
