History
The Australian Chomp is a 30g bar of wafer and caramel coated in compound chocolate, longer and thinner than its UK counterpart. Its packaging shows a green T-rex named Tyrone in a hat, who appeared in Australian ads riding a skateboard. In the 1970s, the Australian slogan was “Ten cents never tasted so good.” In South Africa and Namibia, the Chomp comes in a 22.7g bar, a 60.4g strip, and a 360g treat-size version. The UK bar got a new design in 2009, with the letter 'C' shaped like a mouth with teeth. Chomp was originally made at the Keynsham plant in Somerset, UK, but production moved to a Cadbury plant in Skarbimierz-Osiedle, Poland around late 2010. Labels now read “Made in the EU under license from Cadbury UK Ltd.”
