Karatgurk

Seven sisters who brought fire to humanity.

In the mythology of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation in Victoria, the Karatgurk were seven sisters who alone possessed fire in the Dreamtime. They carried live coals on their digging sticks to cook yams, but refused to share. Crow tricked them into losing the coals, bringing fire to humanity, and the sisters were swept into the sky as the Pleiades star cluster.
