Don Bradman Dominance
The most successful team in cricket history, with a record six World Cup titles and a legacy spanning from the first Test in 1877.
The Australia men's national cricket team represents Australia in international cricket. Along with England, it is the joint oldest team in Test cricket history, playing and winning the first ever Test match in 1877. The team also plays One-Day International and Twenty20 International cricket, participating in both the first ODI, against England in the 1970–71 season and the first T20I, against New Zealand in the 2004–05 season, winning both games. Australia are the current ICC Cricket World Cup champions and are generally regarded as the most successful national team in the history of cricket.

The Australian cricket team participated in the first Test match at the MCG in 1877, defeating England by 45 runs. One of the highlights of early history was the 1882 Test match at The Oval, where Fred Spofforth took 7/44 in the fourth innings, saving the match. After this, The Sporting Times printed a mock obituary proclaiming the death of English cricket and that 'the body was cremated and the ashes taken to Australia,' starting the Ashes series. The 'Golden Age' occurred around the end of the 19th century, with the team under captains Joe Darling and Monty Noble winning eight of ten tours. The Bradman era began with the 1930 tour of England, where Don Bradman scored a record 974 runs. The 1932–33 England tour of Australia is infamous for the England team's use of bodyline, which almost caused a diplomatic incident.
