Critical reception
Fred Thomas of AllMusic described the album as capturing two remarkably laid-back sets at Veteran's Hall, performed shortly after a short tour and just before the release of Cats Under the Stars. He noted that the lineup featured key contributors to that studio album in live mode. The setlist includes original numbers from Cats Under the Stars, such as "Gomorrah" and a rare live rendition of "Love in the Afternoon", along with heavily reworked covers of Motown, reggae, and a gospel tune titled "I'll Be with Thee".
