The Salle Gaston Médecin is a multi-purpose indoor sports arena in the Fontvieille district of Monaco, part of the Stade Louis II complex. Owned by AS Monaco, it hosts basketball, volleyball, handball, judo, fencing, weightlifting, and gymnastics events. The venue is named after Monegasque athlete Gaston Médécin, who died in 1983, and seats 5,000 for basketball.

History

The arena opened in 1985 with Prince Rainier III in attendance. It has been the primary home of AS Monaco Basket. Renovations and modernizations occurred between 2014 and 2016, again in 2018, and from 2021 to 2022 at a cost of €14 million. Seating capacity increased incrementally: from 2,500 to 2,840 in 2014, to 3,000 in 2015, to 3,200 in 2016, to 3,700 in 2017, and to 4,090 in 2021. In 2022, capacity rose in four steps to 4,600, 4,700, 4,950, and finally 5,000 to meet EuroLeague non-A license minimums.
