Playing career

Mark Arcobello got his start in organized hockey at the 2002 Quebec International Pee-Wee Tournament, skating for a New York Rangers minor affiliate. He later attended Salisbury School, graduating in 2006, before spending four seasons with the Yale Bulldogs in college hockey. After going undrafted, he turned pro for the 2010–11 campaign, splitting time between the Stockton Thunder and Oklahoma City Barons, both Edmonton Oilers farm teams. The Oilers signed him to a two-year entry-level deal on April 1, 2011. Arcobello made his NHL debut on February 5, 2013, playing a single game after Oilers captain Shawn Horcoff got hurt. He earned a one-year contract extension on June 16, 2013. During the 2014–15 season, Edmonton traded him to the Nashville Predators on December 29, 2014, in exchange for Derek Roy. He scored in his first game with Nashville on January 3 against the Los Angeles Kings, but after just four appearances, the Predators put him on waivers. The injury-hit Pittsburgh Penguins claimed him on January 14, 2015. After ten games, Pittsburgh placed him on waivers, and the Arizona Coyotes claimed him on February 11, making him the third player in NHL history—after Dennis O'Brien and Dave McLlwain—to suit up for four different teams in one season. Arizona did not give him a qualifying offer, so he became a free agent. On July 1, 2015, he joined his fifth team in under a year, signing a one-year contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs. He started the 2015–16 season with Toronto but failed to register a point, cleared waivers, and was sent down to the Toronto Marlies. He was called back up in February 2016 when the Leafs were dealing with injuries, and he scored two goals in his return game.
