Career

Prima Donna performed the song "Love Enough for Two" at the Eurovision final in The Hague, where it placed third with 106 points. The song was written and composed by Stephanie de Sykes and Stuart Slater, who had previously written "The Bad Old Days" for Co-Co in 1978, which until 1987 was the worst-placed UK entry in Eurovision history. The group's path to the contest was complicated: they won the UK heat A Song For Europe only after a countback when initial regional voting placed them tied for first with Maggie Moone.

Host Terry Wogan asked each of the fourteen regional juries to cast a single vote for their preferred song, a process that descended into farce as some juries voted contrary to their earlier choices and the scoreboard could not keep up. Prima Donna were declared winners nonetheless. This was the first UK entry since 1964 not to reach the UK Singles Chart before the Eurovision final; it eventually peaked at number 48. The group released one more single, "Just Got to be You", in September 1980, which failed to chart, and disbanded soon after.

After Prima Donna

Sally Ann Triplett returned to Eurovision in 1982 as part of Bardo, whose song "One Step Further" reached number 2 in the UK Singles Chart. Lance Aston attempted to reach the Eurovision final again in 1983 as part of Audio, alongside ex-New Seeker Kathryn Ann Rae; their song "Love On Your Mind" finished fourth in A Song For Europe. Jane Robbins' sister Emma Robbins also tried for the UK Eurovision ticket in 1989 as part of The Pearls, placing fourth with "Love Come Down". Danny Finn toured periodically with his wife Eve Graham and later worked at a theme park design company; he died in February 2016. Alan Coates became a songwriter, while Kate Robbins pursued a career as a singer, actress and comedian.
