Ross Orton

Sheffield producer behind Arctic Monkeys' AM, co-founder of Cavemen, and drummer for Add N to (X).

Ross Orton is an English songwriter, producer, and musician based in Sheffield. He gained recognition as a drummer for Add N to (X) and as part of the electro trio Fat Truckers before that group split in 2004. Following the split, he formed the Cavemen songwriting and production duo with Steve Mackey of Pulp. Orton's extensive production credits include the Arctic Monkeys' 2013 album AM, the Mercury Music Prize-nominated Arular by M.I.A., and work for The Fall, Toddla T, Drenge, Roots Manuva, Kid Acne, Bromheads Jacket, and Sheffield electronic artists Kings Have Long Arms and The Lovers. He has also remixed acts such as The Kills, Kelis, the Dooleys, Duffy, Esser, Tinchy Stryder, and Ladyhawke.
