The series follows Riki Ryugasaki, an absent-minded young boy who discovers B-Daman, a game involving animal-like figures that shoot marbles at targets. After helping a friend in a tournament, he receives his own B-Daman, Thunder Dracyan. Riki attends secret tournaments, gains rivals, and learns various game types and mechanics while uncovering the secrets of B-Daman. The story is divided into blocks: East, West, South, North, and Central, each with its own B-Shots (players). Key characters include Kaito Samejima, Grizz Sukino, Samuru Shigami, and Basara Kurochi, among others.

B-Daman Crossfire revived the B-Daman anime franchise after a five-year hiatus, following the finale of Crash B-Daman in 2006. Its 52-episode run was expanded from an initial 26 due to the popularity of the Cross Fight B-Daman toyline. The series marked a technical shift to 16:9 widescreen and aired on TV Tokyo. Internationally, it was licensed by d-rights and dubbed in English by SUNRIGHTS INC., debuting on The CW's Vortexx block in August 2013 and later on YTV and Nickelodeon in Canada. The series' legacy includes establishing the Cross Fight sub-franchise and paving the way for its sequel, B-Daman Fireblast.
