Albie is a British animated television series centered on a five-year-old boy whose wild, distorted imagination frequently leads to trouble with his family, friends, and his grouchy neighbor, Mr. Kidhater-Cox. The series was created by award-winning children's author Andy Cutbill, who based it on his own childhood. It originally aired on CITV in the United Kingdom from 2002 to 2003 and later in several other countries.

Lore & Background

The concept of Albie involves a small boy who repeatedly encounters exotic animals in his garden, such as a herd of Welsh water buffalo intent on stealing his family's bath, Geordie elephants obsessed with buns, and cockney camels from the Sahara living in the sand-pit. The series leaves open whether these occurrences are real or products of Albie's imagination. Created by Andy Cutbill, the show draws from Cutbill's own childhood experiences.
