Plot
Stan Smith becomes annoyed when Roger enters his car without a disguise and acts clingy, affecting the whole family. While accompanying Francine at the mall, Roger picks up a pheromone trail and follows it to a crashed spaceship containing a female alien who was also drawn by his scent. The family takes her home, and Stan fears the CIA will discover her; meanwhile, the CIA investigates her crash site. Roger and the alien become sexually attracted to each other, distressing the family, but after their fling Roger wants to dump her while she wants to settle down. Roger falsely claims he has a girlfriend, but the ruse fails, and despite her insistence he take her into the countryside. At a gas station, Roger calls the CIA to turn her over at a bed and breakfast. Stan admits he called them as they approach, pointing out she could lead them back to the family. Roger takes her away, hands her cash, and leaves her behind; Bullock spots her dog disguise from a helicopter and tries to intercept her after it falls off. Roger cheers her on but then intervenes by building a high-powered rifle from stones, sticks, and bubble gum, shooting down a tree that crashes onto the copter. They leave together, but she continues talking about future plans until Roger bails out of the car, which crashes in flames. The female alien crawls out as the fire burns off her fur, revealing a curvy woman in a fur bikini who walks away. The episode ends with the reveal that the entire story is found in a book Stan is reading, ending with how Kim Kardashian was born. Meanwhile, in prison, Marylin Thacker is executed for murdering her husband. Her son returns home sadly as he prepares to run for attorney general. His son is hit by a car outside, and he discovers a secret hiding place under the floorboards containing The Golden Turd. Ignoring everything else, he calls Wyatt Borden, a wealthy chemical dumper who pledges to help him and even make him president one day.
Reception
Blagsnarst, a Love Story first aired on Fox in the United States on September 21, 2014, drawing 3.03 million viewers and a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic, making it the highest-rated episode of the season. It was the final episode of American Dad! aired on Fox as part of the Animation Domination block until 2026; the show was quietly cancelled by Fox but picked up by TBS for season 12. Critical reception was mostly positive. Alasdair Wilkins of The A.V. Club gave the episode an A−, noting that Kim Kardashian plays a furry pink alien, which he called in keeping with the show's habit of casting guest voices in unrecognizable roles. He added that the episode features Roger and Stan at their most casually sociopathic, yet both find enough hidden emotional depth to keep the episode from feeling completely mean-spirited. On TV.com the episode has an 8.3 out of 10 based on 34 votes, and on IMDb a 7/10 based on 752 votes.
