Injustice (2021 film)

Plot

In a parallel world called Earth-22, the Joker and Harley Quinn murder Jimmy Olsen, abduct a pregnant Lois Lane, and take a nuclear bomb rigged to a heart monitor connected to Lois. Batman alerts the Justice League to search for her. The Flash discovers Scarecrow dead and his fear toxin missing, then dies from a Joker-set trap. Superman locates the villains on a submarine but battles what he thinks is Doomsday, which he blasts into space.

The other heroes capture the Joker and Harley, but Batman realizes the fear toxin was laced with kryptonite, causing Superman to hallucinate fighting Doomsday while actually beating Lois to death. When her heart stops, the bomb explodes, leveling Metropolis and killing 11 million people. During interrogation, the Joker admits he targeted Superman because he was bored with losing to Batman. Superman arrives and kills the Joker.

Green Arrow hides Harley at his safehouse. Superman then reveals his identity at the United Nations, declaring he will enforce peace by any means. The Justice League splits: Wonder Woman backs Superman, Batman refuses to kill, and Aquaman, Shazam, and other magic users depart. Hal Jordan leaves as the Green Lanterns are summoned back to Oa.

The U.S. government orders Mirror Master to kidnap Superman's son Jonathan as leverage. Wonder Woman finds Jonathan's location, allowing Superman to rescue him. Batman later warns the President that Superman will kill him if he discovers who ordered the kidnapping.
