Galaxy Goof-Ups

Galaxy Goof-Ups, also referred to as Yogi's Galaxy Goofs-Ups, is a half-hour American animated television series. A spin-off of *Yogi's Space Race*, it marked the third series in the Yogi Bear franchise. Hanna-Barbera Productions created the show, which NBC broadcast from September 9, 1978, to September 1, 1979.
The central characters, known as the Galaxy Guardians or the "Galaxy Goof-Ups," included Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound, Quack-Up, and Scare Bear. They served as space patrolmen under Commander Snerdley. While on duty, the four constantly made mistakes and spent much of their time in disco clubs. Despite their bumbling, they always managed to succeed.
The program first appeared as a segment within *Yogi's Space Race* from September 9 to October 28, 1978, where it became the most popular part of the show. After *Yogi's Space Race* was canceled, *Galaxy Goof-Ups* received its own half-hour time slot on NBC starting November 4, 1978. The series has since been rebroadcast on USA Cartoon Express, Nickelodeon, TNT, Cartoon Network, Boomerang, and MeTV Toons. Quack-Up and Scare Bear later made cameo appearances in *Jellystone!*.
Two new characters were introduced in this series: Commander Snerdley, the commander who tolerates the team's clumsiness because they somehow solve their assigned cases; and General Bullhorn, Snerdley's superior who is unaware of the Goof-Ups' incompetence and blames Snerdley for any problems. The voice cast included Daws Butler as Yogi Bear and Huckleberry Hound, Joe Besser as Scare Bear, Mel Blanc as Quack-Up, John Stephenson as Commander Snerdley and General Blowhard, Don Messick as Tacky Cat and Space-Spider, Ted Cassidy as Drako, and Janet Waldo as a female Yogi look-alike.
