• StreetPass Mii Plaza comes pre-loaded on all Nintendo 3DS systems and uses the system's StreetPass functionality to detect and exchange data with other nearby systems while in sleep mode.
• Up to ten Miis can appear at the gate at one time; after using them in minigames, the player can check for more.
• The December 2011 update (2.0) added a map to StreetPass Mii Plaza showing which countries the player has met the most Miis from (not all countries have this feature). This was not an update to Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
• All purchasable content became unavailable for download after the Nintendo eShop for 3DS closed on 27 March 2023, though previously purchased items can still be redownloaded.
