Lore & Background
The afterlife in Angel Beats! is a high school environment, a type of limbo for people who have experienced trauma or hardships in life and must overcome them before passing on and being reincarnated. The population includes fabricated students and teachers, whom Yuri Nakamura refers to as 'non-player characters' (NPCs). Takahiro is among the general student body, but it is unknown whether he is an NPC or a real spirit. The story focuses on the SSS, an organization that rebels against an unseen God, and their conflict with the student council president Kanade Tachibana, also known as Angel. Takahiro does not participate in these events and has no recorded backstory or interactions with the main characters.
