Tuchulcha

Etruscan underworld daemon of disputed gender.

Tuchulcha is a chthonic daemon from Etruscan mythology, depicted with pointed ears, hair of snakes, and a vulture-like beak. Its gender is disputed: some scholars see masculine features, while others note feminine dress, pale skin, and apparent breasts. The only known image appears in the Tomb of Orcus II, where Tuchulcha attends Theseus and Peirithous playing a board game.
