The Nazca Lines

The Nazca Lines are geoglyphs etched into the soil of southern Peru’s Nazca Desert. Created between 500 BC and 500 AD, they were made by scraping away the top layer of reddish-brown, iron oxide–coated pebbles to expose a yellow-grey subsoil.
