Gordon Bombay

Gordon Bombay is a fictional character from the Mighty Ducks franchise, first appearing in the 1992 film The Mighty Ducks. He is a Minneapolis-based attorney who, after being sentenced to community service for drunk driving, becomes the coach of a youth hockey team that he renames the Ducks.

In The Mighty Ducks (1992), Bombay is a former player for the Hawks who left hockey after a failed penalty shot in a peewee championship game. He coaches the District 5 team to a championship victory, with Charlie Conway scoring the winning goal on a penalty shot. In D2: The Mighty Ducks (1994), Bombay tries out for the NHL's Minnesota North Stars and suffers a career-ending knee injury during that tryout. He then coaches Team USA in the Junior Goodwill Games, leading them to a shootout victory. In D3: The Mighty Ducks (1996), Bombay is an assistant coach. In the live-action series The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers, Emilio Estevez did not reprise his role as Gordon Bombay.
