A theatrical film, *Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters*, was released on April 13, 2007—the first Adult Swim series to get a feature-length adaptation. Ten online shorts titled *Aquadonk Side Pieces* appeared on the Adult Swim YouTube channel in April 2022, and a direct-to-video film, *Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm*, came out on November 8, 2022.
The show’s premise involves the surreal antics of Master Shake (a selfish, lying milkshake), Frylock (a calm, intelligent box of fries), and Meatwad (a shape-shifting, childlike meatball). They frequently clash with Carl, a middle-aged, boorish sports fan. Most episodes introduce new antagonists, and some feature celebrities playing fictionalized versions of themselves. The Mooninites, two aliens from the Moon, appear often as primary antagonists who cause illegal or destructive chaos. Other recurring characters include Oglethorpe and Emory, MC Pee Pants, the Cybernetic Ghost of Christmas Past from the Future, and Markula. Episodes often end with non-canonical deaths, injuries, or property destruction, which are undone without explanation by the next episode.
For the first seven seasons, the characters lived in a suburban South New Jersey neighborhood. In season 8, the setting changed to Seattle, Washington, though it looked identical.
