CSI: Vegas

CSI: Vegas, also known as Crime Scene Investigation: Vegas, is an American crime drama that debuted on CBS on October 6, 2021. It revived the original 2000–15 series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and is one of several installments in the CSI franchise, which also includes CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, and CSI: Cyber. The show introduced new characters played by Paula Newsome, Matt Lauria, Mandeep Dhillon, and Mel Rodriguez, while also bringing back original cast members. William Petersen and Jorja Fox reprised their roles as Gil Grissom and Sara Sidle for the first season before leaving, and Marg Helgenberger returned as Catherine Willows starting in season two. Other original actors—Wallace Langham, Paul Guilfoyle, and Eric Szmanda—appeared in guest roles as David Hodges, Jim Brass, and Greg Sanders.

Initially pitched as a limited epilogue series, CSI: Vegas was renewed for a second season in December 2021, though Fox, Petersen, and Rodriguez did not return. The first season had ten episodes; the second, which premiered on September 29, 2022, ran for 21 episodes. CBS ordered a shortened third season of ten episodes on February 21, 2023. That season premiered on February 18, 2024, moving to Sunday nights. The series was canceled in April 2024, and its finale aired on May 19, 2024.

The main cast included Paula Newsome as Maxine "Max" Roby, head of the Las Vegas Crime Lab; Matt Lauria as Joshua "Josh" Folsom, a CSI Level III demoted to Level I in season three after going rogue to avenge his mother’s murder, later reinstated; Mandeep Dhillon as Ahalya "Allie" Rajan, a CSI Level III and immigrant; Mel Rodriguez as Dr. Hugo Ramirez, chief medical examiner (season one); Jorja Fox as Sara Sidle (season one); William Petersen as Gil Grissom (season one); Ariana Guerra as homicide detective Serena Chavez (seasons two–three); Jay Lee as CSI Level I Christopher "Chris" Park (seasons two–three, recurring in season one); Lex Medlin as CSI Level I Beau Finado (seasons two–three); and Marg Helgenberger as Catherine Willows (seasons two–three).
