History

Eyes Set to Kill got its start in 2003 as a trio from Tempe, Arizona. The original members were Alexia Rodriguez on lead guitar and backing vocals, her sister Anissa Rodriguez on bass, and Lindsey Vogt as lead singer. The band's name was taken from a line in a poem Alexia had written while still in high school. Over the next few years, the lineup shifted.

In early 2006, Alex Torres joined on rhythm guitar, Corey Pattakos on backing vocals, and Caleb Clifton on drums. Together, they recorded a nine-song EP called When Silence Is Broken, the Night Is Torn at Mind's Eye Digital Recording Studios, a home studio in Glendale, Arizona, run by Larry Elyea. That EP moved 11,000 copies. The band's first full-length album, Reach, came out on February 19, 2008.

It hit number 29 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart and number 77 on the Independent Albums chart, selling 1,900 copies in its debut week. The first single was "Reach," followed by "Darling." Their sophomore effort, The World Outside, dropped on June 2, 2009. It sold 2,400 copies in its first week in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan, and peaked at number 9 on the Heatseekers chart and number 26 on the Independent Albums chart.

The third studio album, Broken Frames, arrived on June 8, 2010. Its lead single, "All You Ever Knew," was released on April 1, 2010, through Revolver magazine's website and the band's MySpace page. Brandon Anderson left the band in early July 2010. Later that year, on October 12, Alexia put out her first solo album, Underground Sounds, under the name Lexia.

On October 26, "Let Me In," a bonus track from Broken Frames, came out as a single with a music video. Greg Kerwin departed the band in early 2011. On June 7, 2011, the group announced they had started their own label, Foresee Records, and were leaving Breaksilence Records. They released White Lotus on August 9, 2011, through a partnership between Foresee Records and Maphia Entertainment.

That fall, they toured with Falling in Reverse and For All Those Sleeping. On July 19, 2012, they signed with Century Media Records.

After hitting 1,000,000 Facebook likes on December 20, 2012, they offered a free download of a new demo. To build hype for the next album, they dropped a video for "Infected" on September 5, 2013. Masks followed on September 17, 2013.
