History

Carolina Liar is most recognized for their 2008 debut album Coming to Terms, which was shaped by producers Max Martin and Tobias Karlsson. The album yielded the platinum-selling "Show Me What I'm Looking For" and the gold-certified "I'm Not Over." The latter track appeared in the 2008 film What Happens in Vegas, an episode of King of the Hill titled "Cops and Robert," and the video game UEFA Euro 2008. On March 3, 2009, "Show Me What I'm Looking For" was offered as the Free Single of the Week on the iTunes Store.

That same song later aired in FOX Sports promos for the 2009 MLB All-Star Game and on MTV's The Hills. Both "Show Me What I'm Looking For" and "Open the Door" were used in commercials for Investigation Discovery's series Disappeared and in promotional spots for We TV's The Locator. In spring 2014, an instrumental version of "Show Me What I'm Looking For" backed a Swinton Insurance ad campaign featuring the Britain's Got Talent 2013 winners, Attraction.

The band served as a supporting act on the David Cook and Gavin DeGraw tour in fall 2011, and opened for Kelly Clarkson and The Fray in 2012. They also opened for Rob Thomas during his Cradlesong Tour, including a stop at New York City's Beacon Theatre. Members of the group have worked with Ariana Grande: Peter Carlsson co-produced her single "Love Me Harder," and Johan Carlsson co-wrote and co-produced "Dangerous Woman." In 2021, "Show Me What I'm Looking For" gained renewed attention after going viral on TikTok. Wolf, a member of Carolina Liar, has collaborated twice with producer Martin Garrix. The band now operates with drummer Brian Ulery, and on June 26th released the single "I Am King." Their music also provides the soundtrack for the upcoming comedy Concert Heroes, where the songs represent the fictional band featured in the film.
