Career
Gannon earned a degree in mechanical engineering from Cornell University. His motorsport career started at Honda Racing Corporation USA, where he was involved with CART and American Le Mans Series programs. He then moved to the UK to work for Wirth Research, contributing to its Formula One effort with the new Virgin Racing team. In 2011, he joined the team itself, first handling trackside aerodynamics before shifting to Performance Engineer in 2012, when the outfit became the Marussia F1 Team.
From 2013 to 2014, he served as Race Engineer for Max Chilton during the Briton's two-year stint in F1. When Haas F1 Team entered the sport in 2016, Gannon came on board as Romain Grosjean's Race Engineer, helping build the team's trackside engineering setup from the ground up. He stayed with Grosjean until 2018, then switched to Kevin Magnussen's side of the garage from 2018 to 2020, guiding the Dane through Haas's strongest midfield run. From 2021 to 2022, he engineered Mick Schumacher across his two seasons.
He then worked with Nico Hülkenberg for the 2023 and 2024 campaigns, after the German's return to Formula One. In 2025, Gannon joined Aston Martin F1 Team as Lance Stroll's Race Engineer. He was promoted to Senior Race Engineer in 2026, continuing with Stroll while taking on broader duties in engineering coordination and performance direction within the race team.
