Mr World Tech

The leader of the New Gods and embodiment of Globalization.

In American Gods, Mr. World is the New God of Globalization and the leader of the New Gods. He is played by Crispin Glover, and in the third season also appears as Ms. World (Dominique Jackson) and in a third form played by Danny Trejo. Unlike a decentralized infrastructure, Mr. World is a singular entity who opposes Mr. Wednesday, the god Odin. He operates within a hidden world where magic is real, leading a collection of New Gods that grow stronger each day against the fading influence of Old Gods like Anansi and Bilquis.

Lore & Background

Mr. World serves as the strategic commander for the New Gods, specifically those born from modern concepts like Technology and Media. In the third season he runs Shard, a major tech project meant to give the New Gods global control and to eliminate the Old Gods. While Bruce Langley portrays the Technical Boy, the specific god of Technology, Mr. World holds the leadership position over this entire faction. The conflict escalates as the New Gods gain strength daily.

Reader's Guide

To understand Mr. He is explicitly defined as the god of Globalization and the leader of his faction, separate from Technical Boy who represents Technology. His leadership involves coordinating efforts against Old Gods like Czernobog, who suspects Wednesday's motives but eventually joins the fight. While Mr. World is a central antagonist, the series focuses heavily on Shadow Moon's journey as he navigates this conflict, ultimately struggling to accept his place in this world of real magic.
