Plot

A teenage girl is tricked into opening her door by a man pretending to need directions. While she steps away to take a phone call, he slips inside and seizes her when she returns. He forces her into a bedroom by the neck and rapes her. The case is covered by obnoxious Channel 5 Action News reporter Roberto Negro, who has been receiving mocking letters from the killer.

The murderer, along with two accomplices (one of whom is hesitant at first), attacks a pregnant housewife. They film themselves beating and raping her at gunpoint, then shoot both her and her dog. Roberto reports the death, but officials refuse to acknowledge a serial killer. Later, the trio spots a woman with car trouble, abducts her in their van, and takes her to their hideout, where they film her being abused, raped, and stabbed.

An envelope with a knife, a gun, and a note arrives for Roberto; police gather clues from these items. Another package, containing a VHS tape, is left at Roberto's office. The tape shows two fans brutalizing and sexually assaulting a woman. Roberto identifies one copycat as a gas station attendant, leading to his arrest.

On the street, two men recognize the serial killer and give chase, joined by others. They corner him in an alley, beating and stabbing him to death. Roberto finds the body, kicks it twice, and walks away.

Reception

The crew of Frontline stormed off in disgust while visiting the set for their documentary American Porn, leading to the United States v. Extreme Associates obscenity trial. Paul Fishbein, president of AVN, called Forced Entry and the rest of the Extreme Associates library "horrible, unwatchable, disgusting, aberrant movies." The Village Voice described it as "The most violent porno I've seen. It's both shocking and completely banal."

Adult FYI wrote, "It's brutal. More than that, it's terribly evil. Convincing. Incredibly well acted and directed."

Cyberspace Adult Video Reviews awarded a score of six out of ten, concluding, "They have every right to make and sell this tape. It is a shame that these very talented people would waste their time on this." Recarts Movies Erotica called it "a disturbing piece of hardcore, made by and for some very disturbed people," noting good acting and tension but cheesy effects, inconsistent camerawork, and poor production values. Adult Industry News decried it as a borderline snuff film, stating that promoting violence and making rape look sexy is disturbing and bad for the adult film business. Academic Eugenie Brinkema wrote extensively on the film in an article titled "Rough Sex."
