A reboot of the Vampire Academy novel series.

Vampire Academy (TV series)

Vampire Academy is a fantasy horror television series from the United States, based on Richelle Mead's book series of the same name. The show was developed for Peacock by Julie Plec and Marguerite MacIntyre, with Universal Television handling production. It marks the second screen adaptation of the novels, following a 2014 film, and functions as a reboot. Rather than following a single book, the series draws on ideas and elements from all six novels to craft a new storyline. It received a straight-to-series order from Peacock in May 2021, with casting announced later that year. Filming took place in Spain and Portugal. The story is set in 1997 and centers on Rose Hathaway, a dhampir training to be a guardian, and Lissa Dragomir, a Moroi princess, as they navigate life at St. Vladimir's Academy, a boarding school. The series debuted on Peacock on September 15, 2022, and earned generally positive reviews. In January 2023, Peacock canceled the show after one season.
