Career
Tim and Paul Frantzich played together in several Minneapolis bands, including A Few, Ruby, and Ride Ruby Ride. As a duo, they blend Travis picking and strumming to expand on blood harmony, a style often found in country music where relatives sing together due to similar vocal qualities.
Their harmonies typically rely on parallel thirds and fifths. Tim’s son, Jonah Marais Frantzich, performs as Jonah Marais in Why Don’t We, so Tim splits his time between Minnesota and California. Paul now lives in Colorado, performing solo and also alongside his brother.
Feed Them With Music
Paul Frantzich launched the nonprofit music venture Feed Them With Music in 2008. The organization channels a portion of proceeds from concert tickets, artist merchandise, music downloads, and live webcasts toward fighting malnutrition both in the United States and around the world. FTWM oversees a collection of global feeding initiatives and provides financial support to them.
Artists keep control of their own work and get a share of the profits through the organization. Frantzich now performs solo as FRAN-ZIK and lives in Colorado. His debut independent album, FRAN-ZIK Feed Them With Music, came out in 2011 and was co-produced by Ashley Mosher, his FTWM collaborator and photographer.
