History
Daniel Grissom, Jamie Nickerson, Zack Van Hoy, and Josh Philips formed the group in 2003 as a melodic hardcore band. Their second show featured Showbread, The Showdown, and He Is Legend (then known as Uriah Omen), all unsigned at the time but later signed to major labels. He Is Legend later joined Called to Arms on Tragic Hero Records in 2009. In 2004, Brady Sweat joined on lead guitar, and the band shifted toward technical metal, known for technical guitar work and retro style metal solos. Their EP The Last Lament was described as a 28-minute trip through nearly every subgenre of metal. In 2007, Grayson Sweat replaced Van Hoy, who left to focus on his indie band Dakota Darling. The band recorded and mastered their third album Peril and the Patient with Jamie King at the Basement Studios in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The album fuses heavy metal subgenres and was influenced by Queen, Smashing Pumpkins, The Mars Volta, Deftones, and System of a Down.
Facts

Jesse Clasen recorded and produced the band's early material and provided guest vocals on several tracks. Lane Wood, who sang guest vocals on "Ashamed, Awake," performed the national anthem before a Panthers vs Dolphins game on August 17, 2012.
