Premise

The series centers on Christopher Jarvis, a high school student who goes by the alias Bhodi Li. He learns that the lasertag game Photon is actually a way to identify the galaxy's most powerful fighters, who are then enlisted to battle the forces of darkness. When he fires his laser gun and utters "The light shines!", he gets teleported to a space station to meet his fellow Photon Warriors. His alien allies include Parcival, an orphaned earthling boy genius; Pike, a shape-changing blob; Leon, a lizard-like creature; Lord Baethan, a cyborg; and Tivia, a black ninja princess from Nivia, a planet where all males died out. Their guide is a sentient computer named MOM, short for Multiple Operation Matrix. The villains operate under the motto "Let the darkness grow!". Each side’s goal is to locate the Photon crystal on a planet as its hundred-year charge nears its end. If the Photon warriors shoot the crystal first, the planet transforms into a thriving, life-filled world; if the villains succeed, it becomes a lifeless wasteland.
