Gameplay
Nuclear Blaze is a 2D side-scrolling action-adventure game with platforming and metroidvania elements. The player controls a firefighter who enters a burning military facility after being air-dropped into a forest. The hose can spray a limited amount of water, refillable at stations, and fire extinguishers are also available. The game has twenty levels, and players can rescue survivors and find notes to solve the mystery of the fire.
Development
Nuclear Blaze was originally created during the Ludum Dare game jam, completed within forty-eight hours, and received positive reception. Developer Sébastien Bénard, a former Motion Twin employee and lead designer of Dead Cells, released the game through Deepnight Games. He aimed to create a title his own child could play, leading to the inclusion of a Kid Mode with child-friendly rules and mechanics.
