Story
In the world of Urralia, the dark god Voden has brought about destruction following the death of the priestess Vera. Players step into the role of the Harbinger, a legendary warrior who emerges only during dire emergencies. Armed with the Omensight ability, the Harbinger repeatedly journeys back in time to the day of Vera's murder, using the Tree of Life as a central base, until the crime is solved and prevented, thus stopping the apocalypse. Along the way, the Harbinger meets four key companions: Ludomir, an alcoholic Rodentian freedom fighter who is also Vera's stepbrother; Draga, the scholarly and honorable general of the Pygarian army; Ratika, a cool, sarcastic magical bard leading the Rodentian forces; and Indrik, the impatient and ruthless Emperor of Pygaria. The Harbinger learns that Vera betrayed her sacred role by summoning Voden, mistakenly believing she could control it to end a war started by Indrik. Ratika discovered this betrayal and tried to kill Vera but failed; Vera's Voden-worshipping associates then killed her after she was no longer useful. With enough knowledge gathered, the Harbinger confronts and defeats Voden, but Indrik, Draga, and Ludomir die in the process, while Ratika transforms into an immortal being called the deathless and rules the world as a god. After uncovering every secret, the Harbinger's grid sends her back to the day before Vera's murder. With the help of all allies and Vera herself, the Harbinger permanently imprisons Voden. Vera and Ludomir then leave to dismantle Voden's cult. Indrik becomes an entomologist, Draga opens a combat academy, and Ratika helps rebuild Rodentia before disappearing without a trace. The Harbinger returns to the Tree of Life, waiting until needed once more.
Gameplay
Omensight is described as an action murder mystery, but at its core it is an action RPG. The mystery drives the story, but the player solves it by playing through the game rather than by puzzling through evidence. Combat is straightforward, with light attack, heavy attack, dodge, and jump abilities. The player gains special abilities and can use the special ability of the companion accompanying them. A targeting mechanic points the player toward the next enemy, making combat fast-paced. The official website describes the combat as fluid and stylish, combining swordplay and magical abilities.
