Background and composition
In March 2011, Josh Ramsay stated that recording for the third album was underway with a fall release planned, and a completed single expected for summer. The single was announced as "Haven't Had Enough". The band posted teasers on YouTube before its release. The song is primarily pop with pop rock guitars and 80's funk influences. Ramsay wrote and produced it alone. The Magazine described it as "somewhat different" from prior work but retaining a distinctive Marianas Trench feel. The song earned the band MTV Push Artist of the Week on January 30, 2012.
Music video
The music video was shot on July 20 in Burnaby, British Columbia. A preview came out on August 8, 2011. It debuted on MuchMusic on August 25, 2011, and hit the band's Vevo channel the following day. Kyle Davison directed it, making it the first of five videos that tell the album's story, with "Fallout" coming next. Drummer Ian Casselman explained the band gets trapped in a toy land and becomes puppets for a queen.
