The Nightly Show (British TV series)
A British late-night chat show with weekly rotating hosts.
The Nightly Show was a British late-night entertainment and chat show that aired on ITV in 2017. It featured a rotating roster of guest hosts each week and was conceived as a domestic response to the popularity of American late-night talk shows. The programme was not renewed for a second series after low viewing figures and poor critical reception.

Did You Know?
- Non-broadcast pilot episodes were filmed in December 2016 and February 2017 to test filming equipment, audience interaction and set design.
- The show was described by British media as a cross between Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway and The Late Late Show with James Corden.
- Each episode was taped at the Cochrane Theatre at 6:00 pm, four hours before its scheduled 10:00 pm broadcast.
Episodes
The episode scheduled for Wednesday 22 March 2017 was cancelled due to ongoing ITV News coverage of the Westminster attack, reducing the series episode count to 39; the post-midnight repeat was replaced by a repeat of Countrywise. On Monday 27 March 2017, ITV lost signal before the second part of the episode, causing it to finish three minutes late. On Tuesday 18 April 2017, the show was transmitted at 11:00 pm instead of 10:00 pm because of extended news coverage of the UK general election announcement. Several host weeks featured regular musical or comedic contributors: McCall's week had DJ 'Fat Tony' as house DJ; O'Leary's weeks had Joe Thompson as house pianist; Walsh's week included Stevie Sidwell and the West End All Stars as house band, Joe Pasquale as roving reporter, and Redd Pepper as announcer; Manford's week featured Stevie Sidwell and The Nightly Show All Stars as house band and Ellie Taylor as announcer.
Reception
The show received negative critical reception upon debut, with criticism on Twitter branding it unfunny and a "rip-off" of the American late-night format. Some viewers also objected to the pushback of ITV News at Ten to 10:30 pm. An inside source indicated the show could be moved to after ITV News at Ten if ratings continued to decline. Mel and Sue were planned to host one week but cancelled citing a busy schedule. ITV stated the show would not return in 2018 due to low viewing figures.
