Reception

Ben Lawrence of The Telegraph praised the performances of Eccleston and Scott but criticised the series, stating he did not love it because it seemed too self-involved and lacked idiosyncratic dialogue or geographical references. Jasper Rees of The Arts Desk and Arifa Akbar of The Independent both referenced Danish drama The Killing in their reviews; Akbar noted that while the creators blended elements of Macbeth and The Killing, the result did not work.
