Production

Early episodes were produced as four specials by TF1, its subsidiary Protécréa, TVA International of Montreal, and Melusine of Luxembourg. Moran Caouissin, an animator from Disney's DuckTales movie, directed. Production began in fall 2000 at a cost of over US$2 million, or US$600,000 per episode. From 2004, later episodes were produced by Euro Visual, Tooncan, Megafun, Bigcash, Dragon Cartoon and Disney Television France, with Éric Berthier directing and Alice Willis composing.

Home video and DVD

The Bellflower Bunnies saw at least six DVD volumes released in France, both individually and as a box set, through TF1, Beez Entertainment, and Seven Sept. In Germany, edelkids put out the first sixteen episodes in February and August 2008. An English version arrived via Feature Films for Families, which issued the first two volumes on VHS in 2001 and DVD in 2003. Four more DVDs, each holding two episodes, came out under the Direct Source brand in 2005. These DVDs are now very hard to find in the United States, where Amazon Prime Video and YouTube are the only known viewing options.
