Goals on Sunday was a British football highlights programme that aired on ITV's Yorkshire Television region. It originally ran from 1989 to 1992 in one format, then returned from 1992 to 2002. The show focused on action from Saturday matches involving teams from the region.

Original Format
The programme was 30 minutes long and featured action from Saturday's games involving the region's teams in the top four divisions. It began with a main 10-minute featured match, mostly commentated by John Helm and presented by Nick Powell. Leeds United or one of the Sheffield teams were usually the main game, with interviews after. After the Premier League formed in 1992, Sky Sports won the rights to show top-tier games, so the show continued with Second, Third and Fourth level matches until the final weekend of the 2001–02 season.
History
The show typically aired in a midday Sunday lunchtime slot showing the previous day's football highlights. Teams featured were from the Yorkshire Television region, covering all of Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, plus a few sides from neighbouring Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire near the borders. From 1992 to 1993, ITV lost First Division match rights to Sky Sports, and highlights rights went to the BBC for Match of the Day. Highlights and live match features initially went out as Your Match, but the name Goals on Sunday was revived. Live Football League games featuring second-tier teams aired until 2002 as Goals on Sunday: Live. The show was replaced by Soccer Night, which covered the Yorkshire TV region's Football League clubs until 2004.
