Series information

A mysterious explosion destroys an artificial intelligence lab, killing scientist Adam Hollister and framing him for the incident. His son Jack believes someone else caused the explosion and stole an experimental computer brain. The thief merges the brain with his own, becoming the master criminal Cybron, who creates a team of bio-borgs. Jack and four friends become the sky-themed superhero team Skysurfer Strike Force to oppose Cybron.

Characters

The Skysurfers are five ordinary civilians who use wrist-worn Digitrans to transform into their superhero identities. The main villain Cybron, who framed Adam Hollister, is super intelligent and plots world domination, caring only for his daughter Cerina. Cerina appears human, has no powers, and seems to have a crush on Skysurfer One. Other villains include Replicon, a blue-skinned shapeshifter; Grenader, a walking grenade that reassembles after exploding; Lazerette, a female bio-borg who shoots lasers; Noxious, who emits toxic gases; Chronozoid, who controls time briefly; Dr. Five Eyes, whose forehead eye can hypnotize; and Zachariah Easel, an artist who brings artwork to life.

Media availability

Family Home Entertainment released three VHS tapes in 1995, each containing two episodes from the first season: City of Terror (episodes 1 and 2), Voodoo Master (episodes 3 and 4), and Titan of Terror (episodes 5 and 7). These DVDs are stripped-down releases with only episodes and a basic menu, sold in thin cases at discount stores for as low as a dollar.
