1990–91 San Antonio Spurs season
Spurs won Midwest Division but fell to Warriors in first round.
The 1990–91 San Antonio Spurs season was the franchise's 15th in the NBA and 24th overall. After adding Paul Pressey in the off-season and building on David Robinson's rookie year, the team won 17 of its first 22 games, including an eight-game winning streak in December, and held a 32–13 record at the All-Star break. Despite hand injuries to Terry Cummings and Rod Strickland that contributed to a 4–7 February, the Spurs won 13 of their final 17 games to claim the Midwest Division title with a 55–27 record and the second seed in the Western Conference. Robinson averaged 25.6 points, 13.0 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 3.9 blocks per game, earning All-NBA First Team and All-Defensive Second Team honors, and finished third in MVP voting. In the playoffs, the Spurs lost to the Golden State Warriors in four games in the first round.
