Production
For its first seven years, the show began with a special Yorkshire Television logo: the chevron zoomed forward to display the week’s four players. The 1988 ITV series was made by Television Techniques for Yorkshire Television. Later, the Challenge version was filmed at the old TVS studios in Maidstone, though Yorkshire Television still produced it. Host Jimmy Tarbuck sometimes entered carrying a briefcase holding 1,000 one-pound notes—the show’s top prize.
