1970s American Anthology Television Series Codexery

Comedy Playhouse (American TV series)

Unsold TV pilots aired as a summer anthology series.

Each half-hour installment featured a pilot that had not been sold to a network. This let CBS recoup some production costs while offering new shows during the rerun season. The cast included Janet Leigh, McLean Stevenson, Phil Silvers, Elke Sommer, Michael Landon, Dick Martin, Rose Marie, and Peter Marshall.
